What’s Inside the ITIN Checklist
Most lenders either don’t serve ITIN borrowers at all — or they hand you a generic list that creates more questions than answers. This checklist is organized specifically for the ITIN refinance process, section by section.
Important: Owning property and refinancing as an ITIN holder is 100% legal in Florida. This checklist is for informational purposes and does not constitute legal or immigration advice. For immigration-related questions, consult a qualified immigration attorney.

- 2 years of ITIN tax returns (Form 1040)
- W-2s or 1099s if applicable

No US Credit History? Here’s What Some Lenders Accept Instead.
Not all ITIN borrowers have a long US credit file — and that doesn’t automatically disqualify you. Some ITIN lenders accept alternative credit references in place of a traditional credit report:
- 12 months of utility payment records (electric, water, gas)
- 12 months of rental payment records
- Bank reference letter from your home-country bank
- Credit card statements showing consistent payment history
Ask Stacy which lenders are most favorable for your documentation profile and country of origin. The answer varies — and it matters.
